Even though the weather outside is “frightful” that doesn’t mean the market has to freeze as well. This is the perfect time to buy a home. The holiday season is usually a VERY slow time of year for Real Estate. In most cases a buyer can expect more motivated sellers this time of year. Buyers should be shopping for their new home as well as Christmas presents. During the last several weeks the market has experience a serious cooling in the $200,000 and above range. If you are a buyer in that price range you can expect more motivated sellers, and potentially marvelous flexibility. If you are in the “affordable homes” range, $150,000 and under, you can expect the same competition that has been seen through the year. My advice to all buyers during this season is BUY, BUY, BUY! When the early spring comes around the selling season will begin again and as a buyer you will miss out on a wonderful opportunity to get a great deal.
